Editorial: In a Class of Its Own
The Cayenne Electric is the most powerful production Porsche ever – and takes Porsche into new dimensions of performance.
Emotional. Electric. Extraordinary. As an SUV with super sports car genes and Porsche’s signature engineering, the new Cayenne Electric is in a class all of its own. It not only delivers outstanding performance, but also features an iconic design and innovations developed in the world of racing.
It’s more than 20 years since we let the first Cayenne loose on the road – for Porsche, a new segment and something of a risk. Many wondered if Porsche would be able to pull off an SUV. Our answer was compelling, and the Cayenne a resounding success.
In 2019, we launched the first all-electric sports car, the Taycan, also a bold step at that time. The all-electric Macan followed in early 2024. And in mid-November, the Cayenne Electric celebrated its world premiere, a milestone that takes us to a whole new dimension of performance. With up to 850 kW (1.156 PS; Cayenne Turbo Electric: Electric power consumption* combined (WLTP) 22.3 – 20.4 kWh/100 km, CO₂ emissions* combined (WLTP) 0 g/km, CO₂ class A ), the vehicle can go from 0 to 100 kmh in 2.5 seconds and is thus on a par with super sports cars.
Positioned as the most powerful production Porsche of all time alongside the hybrid and internal combustion engine versions, the Cayenne will be available worldwide with three types of drive up to and beyond the year 2030, with the all-electric model completing the drivetrain trio.

In the Dossier of the new issue of Christophorus, we take a look at the extraordinary qualities of the electric SUV.
The Cayenne Electric is predestined for a new kind of Porsche Club. As the world’s first Porsche Club for all-electric sports cars, Registro Italiano E-motion based in Italy has written history and ushered in a new era. Christophorus was there for its first-ever road trip – an excursion into the Alps. With lots of different Taycan and Macan models all around us, we had the opportunity to experience an extraordinary community.
Equally extraordinary are the Iron Dames – an all-women’s racing team that’s setting new benchmarks. Célia Martin, Michelle Gatting, and Rahel Frey caused quite a stir in the 911 GT3 R at the last World Endurance Championship (WEC). Christophorus was able to accompany them through the season – and experience their highs and lows firsthand.
Christy Swaid, too, leads a life full of speed and adrenaline. The American popularized the sport of jet skiing in the 1990s, won multiple world championship titles, and worked as a stuntwoman. And in 2024, she made it into the Guinness World Records. We get together with her, her jet skis, and her new 718 Boxster S in the US state of Alabama.
We hope all of you Porsche fans enjoy reading this new issue and we wish you a successful end to the year. And if you, too, would like to share exciting Porsche stories of your own, please feel free to write to us at christophorus@porsche.de.
