Editorial: Identity
The origin of Porsche is rooted in our unique history. It has formed the foundation for our values for more than 100 years.
Philosopher Odo Marquard once said, “There’s no future without origin.” The origin of Porsche is rooted in our unique history. With a strong automotive heritage and an iconic identity. It forms the foundation for our values.
In the Dossier of the new edition of Christophorus, we embark on a journey through history and take to the roads of Iceland with six generations of the Targa – in celebration of the 60th anniversary of the popular 911 derivative. Just like Porsche, the island state has developed an identity based on its history. In line with the motto “Experience the past and shape the future,” we explore an island that has continued to inspire with fire and ice for centuries.
The latest model of the Targa is the GTS variant featuring a performance hybrid drive system. The drive system debuted in 2024 and has been continuously developed ever since. The next evolutionary stage recently celebrated its world premiere in the 911 Turbo S. In our Showroom, we present the most powerful series production 911 with 523 kW (711 PS; 911 Turbo S (preliminary values): Fuel consumption* combined (WLTP) 11.8 – 11.6 l/100 km, CO₂ emissions* combined (WLTP) 266 – 262 g/km, CO₂ class G , CO₂ class weighted combined G ) system output and twin-turbo performance hybrid.

More than a hundred years after Ferdinand Porsche brought it to life, hybrid technology is reaching new heights. Back then, he created the world’s first hybrid vehicle, the Lohner-Porsche Semper Vivus. Our company founder would have turned 150 this September. And that’s why we’re taking a look back at our beginnings – and learning more about the culture and principles that have come to define the Porsche company.
We also examine the street and race cars that have contributed to the development of hybrid technology ever since. One of these is the Cayenne, which played a key role. And now the pioneering SUV has achieved the next – all-electric – stage of development. In the Dossier, you can read about how the testing went and how the Cayenne is setting new charging benchmarks.
The makers of Joseph Kosinski’s new Hollywood blockbuster, F1 The Movie, also provide us with a look behind the scenes. The racing epic is a huge hit worldwide, with Brad Pitt in the leading role. But Porsche plays a role, too, alongside another old Christophorus acquaintance.
We strike a softer tone with star cellist Jan Vogler in Dresden, who takes us on a musical journey in his Taycan – and talks about his inspiring friendship with acting legend Bill Murray. The two of them met on an airplane.
We hope all of you Porsche fans enjoy reading this new issue. And if you, too, would like to share inspiring Porsche moments of your own, please feel free to write to us at christophorus@porsche.de.
