Excitement guaranteed on every lap
With packed grids and adrenaline-fuelled excitement from two single-marque racing championships, the Porsche Motorsport season is ready to roar in Great Britain.
Porsche Carrera Cup GB, the fastest single-marque GT racing championship in the UK, and Sprint Challenge GB, the GT championship for the mid-engined Cayman 718, make a welcome return to action in April. Both championships rejoin their traditional position as part of the TOCA package, racing in support of the British Touring Car Championship (BTCC), with live television coverage on ITV.
Building on the nail-biting excitement of 2024, 2025 sees Carrera Cup GB enter its 23rd season, a year which will mark a milestone 400 races. Meanwhile, Sprint Challenge GB enjoys a sixth season, its second with the Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 RS Clubsport competing on the same grid as the 718 Cayman GT4 Clubsport. A busy calendar of races will take place across 10 weekends, culminating in October. There will be visits to some of the UK’s most iconic tracks, including Donington Park in Derbyshire, Brands Hatch in Kent and Silverstone in Northamptonshire. For the first time, Sprint Challenge GB will race in Scotland at the undulating Knockhill circuit, one of four occasions when the two series will unite on the same roster.
Among several familiar names returning in 2025 is Porsche Carrera Cup GB 2024/2025 Junior James Wallis. James enters his second season racing with the support of Porsche and RAFA Racing Club, and he is looking to maintain the momentum that took him to a podium finish at the 2024 season finale at Brands Hatch. James joins a handful of drivers taking advantage of the RAFA Racing Club Young Driver Development Programme. Like the Porsche Motorsport Junior Programme, it seeks to identify and nurture young racing talent, and offers a comprehensive package of assistance both on and off the track, designed to foster future success in motorsport.
As well as immersing himself in these programmes, James will also appear at the Goodwood Festival of Speed this summer. The Porsche Junior will race against the stopwatch in his Porsche 911 GT3 Cup, looking to replicate his starring role at the 2024 event, when he finished third in the Timed Shootout on the famous Goodwood Hill. In addition, James will line up on the Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup grid at one of this season’s race weekends, in front of the passionate Formula 1 crowd.
With close, exciting racing guaranteed, the 2025 Porsche Motorsport season will prove unmissable.
