Editorial: It’s the People Who Are the Connecting Element

The year 2023 was shaped by emotive highlights that illustrate how closely and inspirationally heritage and innovation are intertwined at Porsche.

“Behind all these dreams, innovations, and successes, it’s the people who are the connecting element.”

75 years of sports cars stand for pioneering spirit, passion, and dreams. All of this was impressively in evidence during the anniversary event held at Porscheplatz in Stuttgart. Just as it was at the Rennsport Reunion in California, the world’s biggest Porsche community gathering, which attracted more than 90,000 visitors. And also in Dubai, the venue of the spectacular Icons of Porsche automobile event. The year 2023 was shaped by emotive highlights that illustrate how closely and inspirationally heritage and innovation are intertwined at Porsche.

Heritage in the rearview mirror, with our sights set on the future – that’s the Porsche DNA. This is at the very roots of our sports car brand, and also characterizes the latest issue of Christophorus. We bring a historic icon, the Austro-Daimler ADS-R, back to Wiener Neustadt in Austria. Affectionately called the “Sascha,” this race car was constructed by Ferdinand Porsche right there more than 100 years ago and was conceptionally ahead of its time. The Sascha brought history back to life on its return home – providing a unique visual and sound backdrop.

We take a leap into the present: recently the new Porsche Panamera was unveiled. We present it in our “Showroom” and place the focus on the sport sedan’s innovative chassis. The Panamera offers an insight into a number of upcoming product highlights. One of these is the Macan electric, which is scheduled to be delivered to customers in 2024.

Behind all these dreams, innovations, and successes, it’s the people who are the connecting element. Our employees. Our fantastic global Porsche community. Millions of individual passions that rekindle and define the Porsche legend day in, day out. Our dossier is dedicated to these people, this enthusiasm.

Dear Readers, as the year draws to a close, I wish you, a member of this loyal community, all the best and a wonderful time with your family. We can look back on a year brimming with fulfilling Porsche moments. Christophorus served as a faithful companion and will continue to do so in the new year, too. And if you wish to report back to us on the passion that connects you to our brand, please write to us at christophorus@porsche.de
