Editorial: Spirit of Adventure

Every Porsche fulfills a dream. Our vehicles create unique experiences and stand for versatile adventures. In Asia, we venture to the limits – from an off-road experience in Cappadocia to a night drive through Tokyo.

“The 911 is the only car that you can drive from an African safari to Le Mans, then to the theater, and onto the streets of New York.” This is what Ferry Porsche, our brand founder, once said, getting to the heart of the 911’s versatility. The 911 has been an icon, and a way of life, for decades. Every Porsche makes dreams come true. Our vehicles create unique experiences and embrace every adventure.

In the new issue’s Dossier, we focus specifically on this versatility and multifaceted nature – and embark on an inspiring journey of discovery through Asia. In the Cappadocia region in the heart of Türkiye, our journey in the all-electric Macan takes us off the asphalt road, where we experience the SUV’s powerful off-road capabilities in breathtaking scenery.

In Bangkok, Chanond Ruangkritya takes us on a tour of his favorite places in the bustling Thai capital. The real estate developer is involved in the development of the new Porsche Design Tower. Together, we explore the city in the Ruby Star 911 and in the 718 Cayman GT4 in the legendary “Pink Pig” design.

We also join a road trip through China on one of the world’s longest roads – in Cayenne and Macan models developed specifically for the Chinese market. These vehicles promise unique outdoor experiences. And in Tokyo’s vibrant nightlife, we experience two vehicles that complement one another’s sporty styles perfectly: the 911 GT3 RS and the Macan Turbo.

The shoot for the new Porsche campaign film Speed of Light was equally exciting. We take a look behind the scenes in Dubai, marvel at a spectacular laser show, and get together with star DJ David Guetta. This is a truly remarkable multimedia event: set in one of the world’s largest solar parks and featuring two top-of-the-range electric sports cars in the Macan Turbo and Taycan Turbo GT.

Another unique story is a 356 from 1958, which we explore on the North Sea coast in the Netherlands. The classic car is one of a kind, filled with special requests ahead of its time. And in Spain, we team up with Porsche brand ambassador Jörg Bergmeister to take a closer look at the development of a new tire for the 911 GT3 RS, which extends the track day season for our customers and optimizes performance on wet surfaces.

We hope that all of you Porsche fans find inspiration in this issue and discover new things again and again in your own sports car. If you’d like to tell us all about it, simply write to us at christophorus@porsche.de.
