Experiencing the Pure Electric Power of the New Porsche Macan in Montenegro

Montenegro, autumn 2024: the coastal roads of this beautiful country came alive with the hum of innovation and the roar of possibility as Porsche Central and Eastern Europe invited a group of 50 journalists to experience the new fully electric Porsche Macan.

The event was set in picturesque Herceg Novi in the Bay of Kotor, a location chosen for its natural beauty and its proximity to the legendary Kotor Serpentine, the perfect playground for the Macan’s high-performance capabilities.

Legacy of Innovation: The Macan Story

Porsche introduced the Macan as a more compact SUV model in 2014, and it has been one of the cornerstones of Porsche’s success ever since. With nearly 800,000 units sold over the past decade, the Macan exceeded all expectations, especially in the region of Central and Eastern Europe. Now, ten years after its initial launch, Porsche has taken a bold leap forward with the second-generation Macan and introduced a fully electric and powerful engine. The result: a car that offers impressive acceleration and enhanced performance that sets new standards for what an electric SUV should be.

A Landscape Tailored for Excellence

Porsche Central and Eastern Europe set out for a 160-kilometre trip through Montenegro’s breathtaking landscape and the highlight of the drive was the Kotor Serpentine. This historic stretch of road, renowned for its 25 hairpin turns over just 10 kilometres, winds through nature reserves and offers awe-inspiring views of the coastal mountains and the crystal-clear Bay of Kotor. The steep, FIA-approved hill climb with a rally-racing heritage, also provided the perfect stage to test the new Macan’s dynamic features and sportiness. The road being closed to other vehicles added to the experience and allowed participants the freedom to navigate without distraction, just enjoying the quiet hum of the car’s electric motor.
