Igniting Dreams, Accelerating Innovation
Porsche Central and Eastern Europe – Dreamer: In the world of Porsche, dreams are not mere fantasies; they are blueprints for the future and reshape the very fabric of our world. Echoing through time, one profound sentence encapsulates this relentless pursuit: “In the beginning, I looked around and could not find quite the car I dreamed of, so I decided to build it myself.” These words by Ferry Porsche provide inspiration to light the path to the seemingly impossible. In the vast landscape of Central and Eastern Europe, this ethos thrives not merely in sports, design, architecture, and business, but resonates profoundly in the beating heart of every Porsche enthusiast. Read here about some of their stories, their passions, and their drive.
Miloš Teodosić ...
... or “hombre en la luna” (man on the moon): basketball legend
Basketball player Miloš Teodosić only recently moved back to Serbia, the country where he was born and raised. Eager to rediscover his roots, the “hombre en la luna” (man on the moon), as fans in Spain called him, talks to us about his career, his dreams, and what is important to him. “Stability and inner strength are essential to me, both in basketball and in life,” Miloš emphasizes while steering his 718 Boxster GTS 4.0. “In sports and on the road, you are nothing without strength, performance, and stability. They are essential for navigating challenges with resilience and determination.”
“Porsche and basketball: the indescribable feeling of excitement and inner happiness.”
This is also why Porsche holds a special place in Miloš’ heart. “Every drive is like the excitement of winning an important game, like the silence before a free throw, and the cheers when the ball goes through the ring – an indescribable feeling of excitement and inner happiness. That’s what Porsche is for me,” shared Miloš passionately.
He equally recognizes parallels between himself and Porsche in aspiring to encourage others to pursue their dreams: “If only two kids in this world decided to play basketball because of me; if I inspired someone with talent to find their right path, my heart would be full, and all my dreams would be fulfilled.”
Dejan Dejo Savićević ...
... one of football’s all-time greats and his 911 Carrera S Cabriolet
The “Genius,” that’s what they called him in his heyday when he baffled the entire football world with his pure, elusive spirit and helped AC Milan land the Champions League title. He dribbled the ball forward with speed and unpredictability, with an indescribable hunger to score. Dejo’s unique skill, driven by a pure love for the game, made the stadium lights seem to brighten on their own. Fans eagerly followed his every move, inspired by the joy he brought to the game.
Today, Dejan Dejo Savićević, is the president of the Football Association of Montenegro and is still one of the most admired sports celebrities in the region. While his spirit remains unchanged, he now finds the thrill of speed and movement when he’s driving the winding roads of Montenegro – and his 911 Carrera S Cabriolet is the perfect partner for this adventure.
To Dejo, hearing the boxer engine of his car singing loudly reminds him of the chants of stands full of enthusiastic football fans: “That sound has always been special to me. It’s a great motivation and inspiration,” says Dejo as we drive along the curvy road. “Driving a Porsche is like dribbling; that’s why I still enjoy it so much. For me it still is the best way to relax.”
When Dejan Dejo Savićević was playing, the lights would turn themselves on in the stadium.
Photographer Radka Leitmeritz ...
... love for Porsche meets love for tennis
Radka Leitmeritz made history as the first Czech photographer to make it internationally. Combining her love for tennis and beautiful things, she breathed life into the COURT SUPREMES project, a collaboration between herself, the management of WTA tennis, and Porsche. The result: a unique picture story about the greatest figures in the history of world women’s tennis in the photographic publication ONE:LOVE.
Next to tennis and photography, Radka is an avid fan of Porsche. “I’ve always liked Porsche; it’s a timeless design icon. I especially love vintage models, but even the new cars are amazing in the way they combine modern and classic shapes.”
Radka’s ideal garage? A modern Taycan during the week and a vintage 911 Targa for the weekends. “In California, where I now live, electromobility is very far ahead. You can charge practically everywhere, so the Taycan is great for me. But the 911 Targa from the 1970s is absolutely my all-time favorite.”
“My ideal garage would look something like this: I’d drive a modern Taycan during the week and a vintage 911 Targa on weekends.”
Oleksiy Shokh and Golan Einat ...
... Porsche enthusiasts
Meet Oleksiy Shokh, Ukrainian traveler, guitarist, collector, environmentalist – in short, a creative jack-of-all-trades, but as the founder of the Porsche Club in Ukraine and the owner of a Porsche dealership, above all, a Porsche enthusiast.
“In a sense, I am a creative person,” is how Oleksiy himself describes it. “Trying to find something new in life, pushing things forward, that is what drives me. I always look with respect at those who do something better than me, try to adopt it for myself and rethink it my way.”
His passion for innovation and reluctance to maintain the status quo helped him advance in life. He expanded his business, plays in a band, actively advocates for the environment, and manages to find time and energy in between to relax on his SUP board and in his Porsche.
“I wholeheartedly recommend a Porsche car for individuals with a dynamic lifestyle. If you exude energy and vitality, this car seamlessly aligns with your essence. It embodies a passion that sparks inspiration.”
Israeli entrepreneur Golan Einat is driven by the same passion. As the owner of ZAPPA Group, the Roladin bakery chain, the Aroma café chain, and a real estate and an investment firm active in Israel and abroad and the father of seven children, Golan has a busy schedule. Still, he manages to carve out time to enjoy driving the various Porsche cars he owns. Describing his love for Porsche, he says, “The thrill of buying and taking delivery of a new car exhilarates me every time. While I’ve owned a Ferrari, Bentley, and a Mercedes in the past, I now only drive Porsche sports cars. I discovered the other brands just didn’t suit me. Ultimately, finding myself behind the wheel of my Porsche never fails to bring a smile to my face.”
“Porsche to me is the reluctance to stay in one place.”
Balázs Domokos ...
... architect and entrepreneur
Balázs is one of the directors and lead architects of the international design studio Group Dyer. The group has set new standards for the design of living and working spaces. Balázs specializes in conceptual design and received the “40 under 40” European Award in architecture and design in 2021.
As an architect, he has a keen interest in blending the old with the new. Living in Budapest, he has had front-row seats in the city’s transformation. “Over the past 30 years, Budapest has experienced a surge in contemporary architecture, marked by innovative and cutting-edge projects that have redefined the city’s urban landscape,” says Balázs. “Industrial structures from the past have been revamped into modern commercial and cultural hubs and there have been major investments in urban redevelopment. It’s all very exciting.”
At the same time, Balázs still stands in awe of the architectural masterpieces of the past. He’s a man of contrasts, both as an architect and as a Porsche enthusiast. “I love the outdoors and being close to nature, so you would expect my favorite Porsche car to be the all-electric Taycan. And, I do think that is an amazing car. But I have to confess my heart beats strongest for the 911 Turbo series, all of them.”
“As a kid, I collected matchbox cars. I put the best-looking cars in the front row, and at some point, all of them were Porsche models.”
