Porsche’s Gift of Time

Porsche Asia Pacific: Porsche gave a surprise gift of 70 seconds to moviegoers to send heartwarming messages to loved ones.

Porsche’s 70th anniversary

Typically, Porsche is all about Intelligent Performance: ever faster lap records, higher efficiency and cutting-edge performance. When it comes to celebrating its 70th anniversary in this fast-moving world, Porsche is dedicating the time saved on the racetrack to our loved ones. As part of the celebrations for “70 years of the Porsche sports car”, a special cinematic trailer entitled “The Gift of Time” was created by Porsche Asia Pacific. This short film has an unconventional twist where the audience had 70 seconds of screen time to connect with family and friends to illustrate how precious a commodity time really is in our packed daily schedules.

The short film premiered in movie theatres on 22 February to coincide with “Ren Ri”, which roughly translates to “People’s Birthday” in the Chinese calendar. This initiative also perfectly complemented Porsche’s 70th anniversary theme of “Sportscar Together”, and reminded the audience of the brand’s many milestones in its illustrious history such as the Porsche 356 completing a demonstration lap at the Innsbruck city race in 1948 and its first overall victory at the 1,000 km race on the Nürburgring in 1967. In 2017, Porsche did it again to the tune of an incredible 6:47.25 run in the 911 GT2 RS, which set the world record for the fastest production car to lap the Nürburgring.
